The Long and Winding Road

Updated: Feb 5, 2020

Whether you are new to RJC Models or you have been following us since our inception, welcome to our brand new website and thank you for taking your time to take a look through our new platform.

For those of you who don't know, the RJC Models community has been going since our very first exhibit at the Shoeburyness Model Railway Show in November 2016. It started with an Instagram post that got an overwhelming 99 likes in one day. Reece never dared to let himself dream, let alone believe, that people would want to see content that he had created, so he was thrilled to see how engaged followers had become in his work as quickly as they did.

It wasn't long before I was able to convince him to branch out to Facebook and YouTube, where he has 473 and 347 likes and subscribers respectively. Those numbers are growing increasingly and still, 3 years on, Reece is astonished at the idea that people are interested in what he has to do and say.

Just the Beginning

While the RJC Models community is still relatively new, the RJC Models workbench is most certainly not. Reece has been model making since he was 8 years old, and his skill just keeps getting better. Encroaching on his 30th birthday, it's safe to say that Reece has a hell of a lot more up his sleeve, and the social media communities that have been established thus far are only the beginning for this old influencer.

What's Next for RJC Models?

I'd be lying if I told you that I know exactly what the future looks like for us - things have a tendency of zigging when we expect them to zag around here. From the loft in our very first flat, to my Mum's garage and then to the dinky little office we currently inhabit, the RJC Models HQ has moved around a fair bit. We'll be here for the next couple of years, but who knows where it will be from here.

Wherever we are based, you can bet your bottom dollar that we will continue to find new and innovative ways to invigorate the model making journey. We're thinking more exhibits, more live shows and even more content. We are looking forward to what's to come, and we hope you will join us along the way!

We want to hear from you! What content do you like seeing? What don't you like? Is there anything that you would like to see? Let us know!
